Do I need borough approval for a porta potty in Ellwood City?
Ellwood City placement on a private driveway or yard usually needs no borough approval. A unit on a borough street, sidewalk or in Ewing Park needs a go-ahead from the Ellwood City Borough office. State routes such as PA-65 and PA-288 fall under PennDOT District 11 highway occupancy permits.
Many homes inside the Pittsburgh Circle sit close to the street with short driveways, so a curb spot can be tempting. Call the borough office before you place anything on the street or sidewalk. Groups using Ewing Park pavilions should ask the borough about outside restrooms when they reserve. Ellwood City spans Lawrence and Beaver counties, so addresses just outside the borough may answer to Wayne, Perry or North Sewickley township zoning.
- Driveway or yard: usually no approval
- Borough street, sidewalk or Ewing Park: Ellwood City Borough office
- PA-65 or PA-288 frontage: PennDOT District 11
What do Ellwood City jobs and gatherings usually need?
Ellwood City orders are often for older-home rehabs and summer gatherings at Ewing Park. A rehab crew of 6 needs 1 standard unit with weekly service. A family reunion of 100 guests over 4 hours needs 2 units, plus a wheelchair-accessible unit for older relatives.
Ellwood City grew around tube mills and steel works, and many houses date from that era. Porch, roof and foundation repairs keep small crews busy, and a 28-day rental suits those jobs. Graduation parties for Lincoln High School families fill late spring weekends. Ball games and church picnics in the borough work well with a standard unit and a hand wash station near the food tables.
How do Ellwood City hills and creeks affect placement?
Ellwood City sits on hills above Connoquenessing Creek, just east of where it meets the Beaver River. Steep streets and sloped yards are the main placement challenge. A standard unit needs a level spot about 4 feet square and firm ground for our dolly.
Pick a flat spot near the top or bottom of a sloped yard rather than halfway down. Ewing Park sits in a ravine, so units there should go on level ground near the pavilion roads. Low land along the creek can flood after heavy rain, so keep units on higher ground in spring. In winter, icy hills can slow our service truck, so salt your driveway on service days.
How soon can a unit reach Ellwood City?
Ellwood City is about 32 miles from our Youngstown yard, so same-day delivery is possible when you call early. Phone us by noon Monday through Saturday. If a truck is free, the unit arrives that afternoon, and if not, it comes the next business day.
Our trucks head east on US-422 to New Castle, then south on PA-65 into Ellwood City. Give us ZIP 16117 and tell us if the address is in Ellport or a nearby township. Weekend parties get delivery on Thursday or Friday and pickup on Monday at no extra cost. Call (330) 248-0204, and we send an itemized quote before you pay.

What does a porta potty cost for an Ellwood City graduation party?
Standard units for an event start at $225 for 1 to 3 days. Ellwood City is just past our 30-mile zone, so we add a small distance charge quoted by ZIP. Pennsylvania sales tax is added, and the full quote comes before payment.
Can a porta potty go up a steep Ellwood City driveway?
Steep driveways are common here, and we dolly units only on safe, firm ground. If the slope is too steep, the unit can sit at the bottom near the street on your property. Tell us about the grade when you book so we bring the right equipment.
How do I order a wheelchair-accessible unit for Ewing Park?
Wheelchair-accessible units start at $295 per event. Each one has a ground-level entry and needs a level spot about 8 by 8 feet. Check with the borough when you reserve the pavilion, then tell us which pavilion so we pick flat ground nearby.
Is weekly service included for long Ellwood City jobs?
Weekly service comes with every rental of a week or more. The driver pumps the tank, washes the inside, adds deodorizer and restocks paper and sanitizer. An extra visit between regular service days costs $85 if your crew needs it.
What if my Ellwood City party gets rained out?
You can cancel at no cost until 24 hours before the drop-off. If the forecast looks bad, call (330) 248-0204 a day ahead and we can move the date or cancel. Once the unit is delivered, the normal event price applies, even if the party moves indoors.
