How many porta potties do I need for a party?

A party needs 1 standard porta potty for every 50 guests over 4 hours. Add 1 unit when beer or wine is served, and add 1 for every 2 hours past 4 hours. A 100-guest graduation party with beer, running 4 hours, needs 3 standard units.

Our method: 1 standard unit per 50 guests for 4 hours, add 1 when alcohol is served, add 1 for every 2 hours past 4. Public events also need at least 5% wheelchair-accessible units (ADA 2010 Standards §213.2).

Separate men’s and women’s units are optional. Each standard unit has a seat and a urinal and works for everyone. Hosts with 75 or more guests often split them by sign anyway, and the event calculator shows the math step by step.

When will the porta potty be delivered and picked up?

Weekend event porta potties are delivered Thursday or Friday and picked up the following Monday. The extra days cost nothing. Early delivery means the unit is in place before guests arrive, because delivery routes run in windows rather than at set times.

Weekday events get a delivery the day before and pickup the day after. Need a same-evening pickup because a park will not allow units overnight? Ask when you book; a same-day drop and pickup is quoted separately. Holiday weekends shift pickup to Tuesday.

Where can an event porta potty go?

An event porta potty works best on level ground within 25 feet of a drivable spot, about 50 feet from food tables and downwind from where guests sit. Fields and farms without an address are fine: send a GPS pin or cross streets with your order.

  • Backyards: a standard unit fits through a 48-inch gate.
  • Parks: Mill Creek MetroParks and city parks issue their own event permits; ask the park before booking.
  • Churches and schools: set the unit on pavement near the lot entrance so it stays clean in rain.
  • Night events: place the unit near existing lights or add a battery lantern.

Do I need a hand wash station for my event?

A hand wash station is the right add-on for any event that serves food, because hand sanitizer does not remove grease or dirt. Plan on 1 two-sided station for every 4 toilets. Each station has two foot-pump sinks, soap and paper towels, with fresh water we fill before delivery.

Stations need no hookups and fit next to the toilets. See hand wash station rental for sizes. For public events, also plan at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit.

Questions renters ask

How much is a porta potty for one day?

A standard event porta potty starts at $225 for 1 to 3 days, including delivery and pickup within 30 miles of Youngstown. Farther ZIPs add a distance charge on the quote. Ohio or Pennsylvania sales tax is added.

Can I rent a porta potty for just a few hours?

Event rentals are priced for 1 to 3 days, so a 4-hour party pays the same as a full weekend. Keeping the unit from Friday to Monday costs nothing extra.

Do I need to be home when the unit arrives?

Nobody needs to be home if the spot is marked and reachable. Leave the gate open or share the code. The driver sends a photo once the unit is set.

What if it rains on my event?

Rain does not change the rental. Set the unit on pavement or gravel if the lawn is soft. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before delivery if you call off the event.

Can I get a pink or a specific color unit?

Unit colors depend on what is in the yard that week, usually blue or gray. Ask when you book and we will note your color preference, but we cannot promise the color.

Will you deliver for a funeral or a last-minute gathering?

Short-notice events get the same-day rule: call by noon Monday through Saturday and we will check the routes. When same-day is not possible, we offer the earliest next-day slot.
