What does a restroom trailer need on site?

A restroom trailer needs 3 things on site: a standard garden-hose water supply, a 20-amp 110-volt outlet within about 100 feet, and level ground about 8 by 16 feet. When there is no power, a generator rental can be added. The waste tank is pumped at pickup.

How many guests can a restroom trailer serve?

A 2-stall restroom trailer serves about 100 to 150 guests at a 4- to 5-hour reception. Each stall handles roughly 50 to 65 guests. Bigger weddings add a second trailer, or pair the trailer with flushing units placed nearby.

Worked example: 180 guests with an open bar for 5 hours. Base: 180 ÷ 50 = 4 (rounded up), add 1 for alcohol and 1 for the extra hour, so 6 stalls: a 2-stall trailer plus 4 flushing units, or two trailers plus 2 units.

When is a restroom trailer the wrong choice?

A restroom trailer is the wrong choice when the site has no level ground, no truck access, or soft fields after rain. Steep farm lanes and tight backyards often cannot take a trailer. Flushing porta potties with sinks are the better fit there.

Send a photo or map pin of the spot and lane, and we will confirm fit before you pay. Compare options on the wedding restroom page.

Questions renters ask

Can a restroom trailer stay for a week or a month?

Businesses with a plumbing outage or remodel can keep a trailer for weeks with scheduled pump-outs. Long-term trailer pricing is quoted per 28 days.

Does the trailer have hot water?

Hot water is an add-on that runs off the trailer’s power supply. Ask for it on cold-season events.

Do I need an attendant?

The trailer runs on its own. For events over 150 guests, assign someone to check paper and soap halfway through.

Can the trailer go on grass?

Firm, dry, level grass works. After heavy rain, the trailer may need to sit on a driveway or gravel pad.
