What is inside a standard porta potty?
A standard porta potty has a toilet seat over a 60-gallon waste tank, a urinal, a toilet paper holder with spare rolls, a hand sanitizer dispenser, a roof vent and a door lock with an occupied sign. The tank holds roughly 200 uses before it needs service.

Will a standard porta potty fit in my backyard?
A standard porta potty fits through a gate that opens 48 inches wide, because the unit is about 44 inches wide. The crew carries it on a dolly, so the path needs firm ground with no steps. The truck must still park within about 25 feet for weekly pumping.
If the gate is narrower than 48 inches, place the unit on the driveway side of the fence. Measure the gate between the posts, not the door panel, and tell us the number when you book.
When is a standard unit the wrong choice?
A standard porta potty is the wrong choice for a formal wedding, a wheelchair user, or a long event with food and no hand wash station. Pick a flushing unit with a sink, a wheelchair-accessible unit, or add a hand wash station in those cases.
- Formal events: flushing unit with sink.
- Guests who use a wheelchair or walker: wheelchair-accessible unit.
- Food served: hand wash station.

Questions renters ask
Is the standard unit unisex?
Each standard unit has a seat and a urinal, so anyone can use it. Many hosts with 2 or more units hang men and women signs to split them.
What color are the units?
Standard units are usually blue or gray. Color depends on what is in the yard that week, so we note your preference but cannot promise it.
Does it have a light?
Standard units have a translucent roof that lets in daylight but no electric light. For night use, place the unit near a porch light or add a battery light.
Can I buy a porta potty instead of renting?
We rent units only. Renting includes delivery, cleaning, waste disposal and pickup, which owners would need to arrange themselves.
